Driver jobs in Ukraine are growing as logistics, public transport, and international freight demand qualified drivers with valid licenses. Long-haul truckers, delivery drivers, and bus operators are needed by Ukrainian transport companies serving domestic routes and European corridors. Asia Work places drivers from India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and other countries at verified Ukrainian employers with full visa, work permit, license conversion assistance, and accommodation.

Driver Demand in Ukraine — 2026

Ukraine's transport sector lost over 30% of its drivers to emigration and mobilization since 2022. Freight volumes recovered while the driver pool shrank. Driver jobs in Ukraine now offer competitive pay and stable routes for foreign nationals willing to complete the Ukrainian license conversion process.

Transport segments hiring:

  • International freight — long-haul trucking to Poland, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, Baltic states
  • Domestic freight — inter-city cargo delivery, construction material transport
  • Last-mile delivery — parcel delivery for Nova Poshta, Meest, Rozetka, Ukrposhta
  • Public transport — city bus operators (Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro)
  • Corporate transport — employee shuttles, school buses, factory transport
  • Agricultural transport — grain hauling, livestock transport (seasonal peaks)

International freight positions pay the most. Domestic delivery is most accessible for drivers without European license conversion.

  4. Practical test — driving assessment (categories C/D/E require specific vehicle testing)
  5. License issuance — Ukrainian driver's license with equivalent categories

Timeline: 3–4 weeks after arrival. Asia Work provides translation services and training materials for the theory test. Pass rates for experienced drivers: 85%+ on first attempt.

  • 🇺🇿 Uzbekistan — Uzbek drivers with CIS-system experience. Familiar with post-Soviet road infrastructure. Language advantage — basic Russian understood. Uzbekistan recruitment

FAQ

Can I drive immediately after arriving?

No. Ukrainian license conversion takes 3–4 weeks after arrival. During this period, you study for the theory test, complete medical examination, and take practical driving assessment. Accommodation and meals are provided during this preparation period.

Do I need to know Ukrainian road signs?

You will study Ukrainian traffic rules as part of license conversion. Study materials are available in English. Road signs follow international (Vienna Convention) standards — most are identical to signs in your home country.

What trucks will I drive?

International routes: modern DAF XF, MAN TGX, Volvo FH, Mercedes Actros, Scania R-series (2019–2025 models). Domestic routes: may include older vehicles. All trucks maintained to roadworthiness standards.

Is international trucking safe?

EU-corridor routes (to Poland, Romania, Hungary) are safe and well-maintained. You will not drive through conflict-affected areas. Border crossings are routine — Ukrainian truckers make these trips daily. Asia Work only places drivers on verified safe routes.

Can I bring my own IDP (International Driving Permit)?

Yes, an IDP is useful for the initial period and simplifies license conversion paperwork. However, you must still complete full Ukrainian license conversion — IDP alone does not permit long-term professional driving in Ukraine.

What about fuel costs and tolls?

All fuel, tolls, vehicle maintenance, and insurance are employer costs. Drivers do not pay any vehicle operating expenses. Fuel cards (Shell, OKKO, WOG networks) provided for Ukrainian and European refueling.

What is rest time between international trips?

EU driving regulations (EC 561/2006) apply to international routes. Maximum 9 hours driving per day, mandatory 45-minute break after 4.5 hours, weekly rest 45 hours. Between trips: minimum 3 days at home base. Tachograph ensures compliance — violations result in fines to the employer.
