Getting a job in Ukraine as a foreign citizen requires navigating a five-step legal process. If you want to know how to get a job in Ukraine from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, or another Asian country, this page explains every stage — from submitting your first application to walking into your workplace. Asia Work manages how to get a job in Ukraine as a single turnkey service: one team, five steps, no middlemen.
How to Get a Job in Ukraine — The 5-Step Process
The path from candidate to employed worker follows a fixed legal sequence. Each step depends on the previous one. Skipping or reordering steps is not possible under Ukrainian immigration law.
Step 1: Application and Job Matching
You submit an application with your documents and work experience. Asia Work reviews your profile, verifies qualifications, and matches you with open positions at Ukrainian employers. Once matched, you receive a formal employment offer.

Step 2: Work Permit
Your future Ukrainian employer applies to the State Employment Service for a work permit on your behalf. Processing takes 14–21 working days. The permit authorizes you — specifically — to work for that employer in that role.

Step 3: D Visa (D-03)
With the work permit issued, you apply for a D-03 work visa at the Ukrainian consulate in your home country. The consulate in New Delhi, Islamabad, or Dhaka processes your application in 10–15 working days.

Step 4: Travel to Ukraine via Moldova
Direct flights from South Asia to Ukraine are unavailable in 2026 due to airspace restrictions. Most workers fly to Chisinau (Moldova), cross the Palanca border by ground transport, and enter Ukraine by road.

Step 5: Arrival and Registration
Asia Work meets you at the border or in the destination city. Within the first week, you complete migration registration, receive accommodation, and start work. Within 45 days, you apply for a Temporary Residence Card.

How Long Does the Entire Process Take?
The standard timeline from application to first day at work:
- •Application and job matching — 1–3 weeks
- •Work permit processing — 3–4 weeks
- •D visa processing — 2–3 weeks
- •Travel and arrival — 3–5 days
Total: 45–75 days from submitting your application to starting work in Ukraine. Delays usually come from missing documents or limited consulate appointment availability.
What Asia Work Handles vs. What You Do
Understanding the division of responsibilities helps you prepare correctly.

- •Work permit application and government follow-up
- •Document translation, notarization, and apostille verification
- •Consulate appointment preparation and document review

- •Accommodation arrangement
- •Migration registration and TRC application
You handle:
- •Gathering personal documents (passport, diplomas, police clearance)

- •Arriving at work on time
Why Use a Recruitment Company?
Ukrainian immigration law requires the employer to initiate the work permit process. You cannot apply for a Ukrainian work permit independently — it must come from a registered Ukrainian company.
Working with Asia Work gives you:
- •Direct employer access — we work only with verified Ukrainian companies that have passed our due diligence
- •Legal compliance — our Kyiv-based legal team handles all document processing in Ukrainian
- •Single point of contact — one team manages all five steps instead of five separate services
- •Rejection prevention — our 47-point document checklist catches errors before government submission
Candidates who attempt to arrange employment independently face language barriers (all government documents are in Ukrainian), lack of employer connections, and no recourse if something goes wrong. Our work permit rejection rate is below 3%, compared to an industry average of 15–20%.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to work in Ukraine in 2026?
Asia Work places workers at employers in western and central Ukraine. Our partner companies operate in regions far from conflict zones. We do not place workers in frontline or eastern areas.
How much does the process cost for candidates?
Candidates do not pay for work permit processing — employers cover these costs through Asia Work's service fee. You pay for your flight ticket, apostille fees in your home country, and personal expenses during travel.
Do I need to speak Ukrainian?
No. Most factory and construction positions do not require Ukrainian language skills. Foremen and team leads communicate through translators or bilingual supervisors. Learning basic Ukrainian phrases is helpful but not mandatory.
Can I bring my family to Ukraine?
Not immediately. After receiving a Temporary Residence Card (typically after 1 year of legal employment), you can apply for family reunification. Read more in our Residence Permit guide.
What types of jobs are available?
Asia Work places workers in welding, construction, manufacturing, CNC machining, garment production, meat processing, warehousing, hospitality, and other skilled trades. Browse all job categories.
What if my work permit or visa is rejected?
If any step is rejected, Asia Work identifies the issue and resubmits with corrected documents at no additional cost. Most rejections result from document errors that our review process is designed to catch.
