Asia Work recruits foreign workers for Ukrainian employers from twelve source countries across South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, East Asia and the Middle East. Each country has specific recruitment patterns, document requirements and consulate processes. This article gives an honest overview.
South Asia: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal
South Asia is the largest source region for Asia Work placements. Welders, construction workers, masons, CNC operators and factory workers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal make up the majority of our annual placements.
India provides candidates from across the country. The Ukrainian consulate in Delhi handles north and east applications. The Mumbai consulate handles south and west. Both are active and processing times are predictable.
Pakistan candidates apply through the Ukrainian embassy in Islamabad. It is the only Ukrainian mission in Pakistan, so candidates from Karachi, Lahore and other cities travel to Islamabad for the appointment.
Bangladesh candidates apply through the Ukrainian embassy in Dhaka. The volume is smaller than India and Pakistan but growing rapidly in 2025 and 2026.
Nepal candidates apply through the Ukrainian embassy in Kathmandu. Most Nepali candidates have prior Gulf experience, particularly in masonry and construction.
Middle East: UAE and Saudi Arabia hub
Many candidates working in the Gulf consider transitioning to Ukraine. The UAE and Saudi Arabia hub covers this scenario specifically. Candidates currently in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh or Jeddah cannot apply for the Ukrainian D-03 visa from a Gulf consulate. They must travel to their home country for the visa appointment.
Asia Work handles many Gulf-to-Ukraine transitions per year. The process is well established and the transition typically takes 60 to 90 days from decision to first day at the Ukrainian workplace.
Southeast Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines
Vietnam has an established community in Ukraine since the 1990s. Vietnamese candidates dominate CNC operator and factory worker placements. The Ukrainian embassy in Hanoi handles visa applications.
Indonesia is a growing source for Asia Work. Welders, construction workers and CNC operators are the main role categories. The Ukrainian embassy in Jakarta processes visa applications.
Philippines provides English-fluent candidates ideal for roles requiring workplace communication. Filipino Christian community in Kyiv supports newcomers. The Ukrainian embassy in Manila handles visa processing.
Central Asia: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan
Uzbekistan candidates often have advantages with shared language history (Russian still widely spoken) and established cross-border movement patterns. Construction and factory worker placements dominate.
Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are smaller volume markets but active. Most Central Asian candidates can travel to Ukraine without Moldova transit, simplifying logistics.
East Asia: China
China is a smaller source for Asia Work but specific role categories (advanced manufacturing, certain construction specialisations) are filled from China. Chinese candidates apply through the Ukrainian embassy in Beijing.
What every country has in common
Regardless of source country, the Asia Work process is the same: application, employer match, work permit, D-03 visa, arrival. The 45 to 60 day timeline applies across all twelve source countries. Asia Work brief and accommodation support is the same.
What differs by country: consulate location, document apostille process, transit requirements (Moldova or direct), and specific role categories where each country has the strongest candidate pool.
