If you operate a licensed recruitment agency in India and your candidate pool includes welders, construction workers, CNC operators or skilled trades, Ukraine is a placement market worth considering. This article explains the partnership model with Asia Work and what makes Indian agency partnerships work.
Why Indian agencies are a strong fit for Ukraine
The Ukrainian labor market needs the same skill profiles that Indian agencies have been placing in Gulf countries for decades. Welders, masons, construction workers, CNC operators, factory workers, food processing specialists. The skill bar is comparable to Gulf placements. The candidate population that Indian agencies already serve is the candidate population Ukrainian employers need.
Beyond skill match, the Indian recruitment ecosystem brings experience with international placement: document handling, MEA apostille, consulate appointments, candidate briefing on cultural adjustment, family communication during placement. These competencies transfer directly to Ukrainian placements.
What Asia Work brings to the partnership
Asia Work is a Ukrainian company with direct employer relationships across manufacturing, construction, agriculture and logistics. We handle work permit processing through the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, D visa documentation for the Indian consulate, Moldova transit logistics, airport pickup, accommodation and migration registration.
The Ukrainian employer side is fully ours. The home-country side is fully yours. The boundary is clean and the responsibilities are documented.
Beyond operations, Asia Work brings competitive partnership terms, a single dedicated partnership manager per agency, transparent compensation structure discussed during onboarding, and long-term volume commitment because Ukrainian employer demand is ongoing and growing.
The Indian agency profile we look for
Asia Work works with Indian agencies meeting these criteria:
- Valid registration with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Recruitment Cell
- Two or more years of operating history with international placements
- Active candidate pipeline in skilled trades or manufacturing
- Ethical recruitment practice (no candidate fees beyond regulator-allowed)
- English-speaking primary contact for daily coordination
- Capacity to vet, document and brief candidates before submission
Most of our existing Indian partners are based in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune, with regional pipelines from Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Smaller cities work too if the operational capacity is in place.
The partnership process
The application takes five minutes. Submit your agency credentials, license number and target source regions through the partner application page. Our partnership team contacts you within two business days for an introductory call.
If the call confirms mutual fit, we sign mutual NDA, share commercial terms, and finalise the partnership agreement document. This typically takes one to two weeks.
After the agreement is signed, you begin submitting candidate profiles for matching with Ukrainian employers via our shared submission portal. Joint processing means your agency handles initial vetting and home-country documents. Asia Work handles work permits, D visas, Moldova transit and arrival.
Successful placements lead to partner compensation per the agreement terms. The compensation structure is transparent, competitive, and stays the same across our partner network for comparable role profiles.
What Indian agencies tell us they value
Asia Work has been running Indian partnerships since 2024. Common themes from partner agencies:
The clear boundary of responsibility means there is no confusion about who handles which document or which step. Indian apostille and HEC equivalence stay on the agency side, Ukrainian work permit and arrival logistics stay on Asia Work side. No grey zones.
The single point of contact at Asia Work means partner agencies have one person to reach for any question. No transfers between departments, no waiting for an unknown person to respond. The partnership manager owns the relationship.
The honest expectation-setting culture from both sides reduces friction. Indian agencies that brief candidates honestly about Ukrainian winter, food differences and 12-month commitment see fewer dropouts in the first 90 days. Asia Work briefs Ukrainian employers honestly about candidate skill levels and personal circumstances, reducing day-one mismatches.
The growing employer pipeline on the Ukrainian side means partner agencies have ongoing volume rather than one-off projects. Most Indian partners are now placing more candidates per quarter than they planned in the first agreement year.
Common questions from Indian agencies
How long does the first placement take from agency application to first candidate? Typical timeline is two to three months from partnership agreement signing to first candidate placed. Partnership agreement to first candidate submitted is usually within two weeks. Submitted candidate to placed in Ukraine is the standard 2 to 2.5 months.
What if our agency is small or relatively new? Two years of operating history is the soft minimum. Smaller agencies with strong skill specialisation (e.g. welder-only or CNC-only) can be a strong fit. Send the application and we evaluate fit during the call.
How is candidate compensation handled to keep recruitment ethical? Partner agencies cannot charge candidates beyond what the Indian regulator allows. Asia Work audits this regularly. Agencies with predatory candidate fees do not pass our partnership review.
What happens if a candidate has problems after arrival in Ukraine? Asia Work owns post-arrival support. Issues are resolved by our team in Ukraine. Partner agencies are kept informed but are not on the operational front line for in-country issues.
